Untalkative Bunny

Celebrity Chef

Untalkative Bunny appeared as TV Guide's Celebrity Chef some time ago. The blurb and two recipes follow.

A creation from Ottawa's Dynomight Cartoons, "Untalkative Bunny" is a kind-hearted 'toon. In one episode, Bunny saves a chocolate bunny from a pastry shop. "The last scene is Untalkative Bunny having tea with his chocolate bunny," explains Dynomight CEO Diane Craig. She adds, "The chocolate bunny has become his friend." Since people generally enjoy chocolate for its taste, and not its company, here's a recipe for some scrumptious Easter treats sure to be a hit in your home.

Chocolate Easter Eggs
8 oz semi-sweet baking chocolate 220 g
1/4 cup butter, softened 50 mL
1/4 cup icing sugar 50 mL
2 tbsp heavy cream 25 mL
1/2 tsp vanilla extract 2 mL
chocolate or colored sprinkles
  1. Melt chocolate over hot water; cool.
  2. Cream butter and sugar. Stir in cream and vanilla. Add melted chocolate; blend well. Chill about half an hour or until firm enough to handle.
  3. Using wet hands, shape into small eggs, using about 1 tbsp (15 mL) mixture for each. Roll in sprinkles.
  4. Store eggs covered in refrigerator.
